Secretary General

Regarding Lebanon and its dilemmas
* The terrorist organization Hezbollah is the Cancer which must be fully Extracted.
* Full Implementation of UNSCR 1559 is the only solution for Lebanon.
* Any measure less than that will only prolong the pain and suffering of the innocent and
honourable people of Lebanon.

Dear Secretary Guterres,

The World Council of the Cedars Revolution (WCCR) has worked, over many years, in a close relationship with the United Nations Security Council for the benefit of the people of Lebanon. Our most valued achievement was the UNSCR 1559 of September 2004. One of the most important demands of this resolution was the disarming of all militias, Lebanese or otherwise, operating on Lebanese soil. This is the crucial point for the long term safety and peaceful existence of the people Lebanon.

Our objective for Lebanon has always been the gradual process of a cultural revolution which will ultimately bring the Lebanese citizens to a peaceful and productive way of life. When given the opportunity, the Lebanese have proven world-wide that they are law-abiding, hardworking, creative, productive, and extremely successful in all fields of life.

However, the first step must be to remove the threat of having to live under intimidation at the barrel of a gun, or explosive rocket heads, or the storage of nuclear-power chemicals in the capital of Beirut and elsewhere. Accordingly the corruption of the ruling elite under the protection and guardianship of the terrorist group, Hezbollah, must be addressed.

The storing and exploding of nuclear material on Lebanese soil either by direct action or simply by the possession of such devastating material which invites deterring action by others is a growing problem. There is also the imminent potential of another conflict between Hezbollah and Israel, who is threatening to completely destroy Lebanon.

The terrible explosion in the port and subsequent civil unrest provides an opportunity for taking decisive action to disarm this ferocious terrorist group and remove them from Lebanon completely. We must remember that Hezbollah has willingly informed the world that they are “Iran in Lebanon,” thus declaring a formal occupation of the sovereign state of Lebanon, which is completely unacceptable.

We cannot impress sufficiently upon the United Nations Security Council that any election and appointment of a new government before removing Hezbollah and extinguishing its control over the people of Lebanon, will simply prolong the painful suffering and devastation of Lebanon because Hezbollah will ensure that only those who bow to its control can become Members of Parliament or Ministers of Government.

The only solution for the long term benefit of Lebanon is to place Lebanon under Chapter 7 of the United Nations Charter and to fully implement UNSCR 1559—thus removing the threat of Hezbollah against the people of Lebanon and all our regional neighbours.

For and on behalf of the World Council for the Cedars Revolution.
