Lebanon has been elected Vice-President of the UN General Assembly for one year

The press office of the Permanent Mission of Lebanon to the United Nations said in a statement issued Friday that “after having completed its term as a non-permanent UN Security Council member, Lebanon has been elected Vice-President of the UN General Assembly for one year.”
 
The statement added that Lebanon will represent “the Asian and Pacific group [in the] 67th session, which will kick off in September 2012,” according to the National News
