Kataeb official Sejaan Azzi responded on Sunday to Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s Saturday speech in which he ruled out the arrest of the four members indicted by the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.

What Nasrallah announced is a “judicial, civil, security and political disobedience against the Lebanese state, the security and army forces and the justice, interior and defense ministries,” Azzi told LBC television.

He also said that Nasrallah himself accused Hezbollah by defending the people indicted by the STL and considering them as “members of the Resistance.”

“After we considered that Hezbollah has violated national charter, it has become a party that has [also] violated international justice. It is not something we hoped for.”

“What we hoped for is that Hezbollah separates between its members and those accused until the STL [issues a verdict] on who is convicted and who is [not].”

Azzi added that the Lebanese judiciary, UN Security Council, the STL, President Michel Sleiman and Prime Minister Najib Mikati should respond to the Hezbollah chief.

The STL on Thursday handed Lebanon's Attorney General Said Mirza arrest warrants for four members of the Iranian-and Syrian-backed group in connection with the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

The whereabouts of the four remain unknown.
