Just as I was lamenting over the lack of images coming out of Syria, two new videos have surfaced on YouTube in the past hour showing the city of Daraa exploding with protesters demonstrating against Bashar al-Assad’s regime. Daraa is in the southwestern part of the country, near the border with Jordan.

In the first video, a large gathering of demonstrators can be heard chanting “that which protects us is also the thief.”

The second video shows protesters standing up to security forces on a bridge, also in Daraa, where fire trucks can be seen spraying water on the people in an apparent effort to disperse and hold them back.

There is also new video coming out of the northwestern coastal city ofBaniyas.

In this video, protesters can be heard chanting, “God, Syria and Freedom.
