MPs Nayla Mouawad and Jawad Boulos said that there was no electricity in Zgharta for several days and that the bad weather increased the problem.

In a joint statement on Thursday, the two MPs said that neglect of the issue had exacerbated the situation, and that the Energy Minister Alain Tabourian should have already addressed it.

They called on Tabourian to quickly take the necessary measures to resolve the problem.
