Anti-Syrian political elements in Lebanon have revealed that Lebanese security apparatuses last month extradited to Syria the Syrian oppositionist Nawwar Aboud, who is one of the followers of Rif'at Al-Assad, uncle of Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad.
The elements expressed apprehension about the renewed involvement of Syrian intelligence apparatuses in Lebanon, and demanded that the Lebanese authorities explain the meaning of the incident. In October 2008, it was reported that Lebanon was restricting the activity of Syrian oppositionists in its territory, against a backdrop of diplomatic relations with Damascus.
