Hamas representative to Lebanon Ousama Hamdan on Tuesday said the issue of Palestinian military bases outside refugee camps should be tackled in a way that does not force the Palestinians to give up their right to return to their homeland.

Hamdan made the statement to reporters after talks with Minister of Youth and Sports Talal Arslan at the latter's residence in Khaldeh, south of Beirut.

Hamdan also said the self-declared "victory achieved in Gaza is a step along the march of ending the occupation and achieving aspirations of the Palestinian People."

Arslan, however, called for "opening the Rafah crossing."

He also expressed "regret because the Palestinian People is being whipped under an Arab and Islamic cover."
