On this blessed day when we Christians celebrate the birth of our Savior – and contemplate more deeply our eternal desire that there be peace on earth and good will toward all men – we must remember to remain vigilant. There are those who don’t wish us the same, and who view our most sacred holidays as a time in which our guard might be down both in a military security sense and through the broader war of ideas (prosecuted through the various international media).

Case in point, a report in Naharnet of seven Katyousha rockets defused today by Lebanese special operators just before they were to be launched against Israel, which thus far has barely registered a blip in Western media.

According to the report:

“Lebanese Army sappers on Thursday defused seven Katyousha rockets deployed in the southern Naqoura region prior to launching towards Israel, a reliable source said.

The source, speaking on condition of further anonymity, said the 107-mm projectiles were fitted with timing devices and defused ‘a short while before the time set for their launching’.

He said the Katyoushas were 'discovered' in the area between the border towns of Naqoura and Teir Harfa.”

Katyousha rockets are Hizballah weapons, and the region they were deployed is Hizballah country.
