Syria receives first batch of Pantsyr air defences |

 Pantsir-S1 Janes International Defense Review is reporting in it's June 6th, 2008 edition [ HERE ] that The Syrian Air Defence Command has taken delivery of an initial shipment of 96K6 Pantsyr-S1E (SA-22 'Greyhound') short-range gun and missile air-defence systems, along with up to four simulators that will be used to train both Syrian and Iranian air-defence personnel. Pantsyr-S1E - designed by the KBP Instrument Design Bureau and built by the Ulyanovsk Mechanical Plant - carries 12 57E6 surface-to-air missiles in four launchers, augmented with two 2A72 30 mm cannons and 750 ready-use rounds
