4:45pm Hizbullah’s Deputy Secretary-General Sheikh Naeem Qassem received a Jamaa Islamia delegation headed by Ibrahim al-Masri. Discussions focused on learning from past experiences and working for Islamic unity and affirming the choice of resistance. 2:20pm President Michel Suleiman said the stable political and security situation is an important factor in making the tourism season a success. The president also expected a large number of Lebanese and Arab and foreign tourists to visit Lebanon. 12:10pm Military prosecutor Saqr Saqr charged four people for cooperation with Israel and providing it with information on civilian and military bases. 11:20am Former PM Najib Miqati hoped for a quick formation of the new cabinet which should be based on true partnership. 10:30am Phalange leader Gemayel to LBC: We have to wait for the STL’s ruling before we enter into a serious relationship with Syria. Damascus has to prove its good intentions by dismantling armed Palestinian bases and demarcating the border. 10:00am MP Michel Moussa to LBC: All foreign sides are interfering in Lebanon. We have to take advantage of the positive atmosphere in the Arab world and the region and to bring views closer so that we refuse foreign dictates. 8:32am MP Anwar al-Khalil to VDL: The issue of Hariri’s visit to Syria is being seriously pondered. The visit could come before or immediately after cabinet formation. 8:30am MP Ghazi Youssef to VDL: There are no problems that cannot be solved in cabinet formation. Reports about PM-designate Saad Hariri’s visit to Damascus before government formation are just rumors. 7:30am MP Fadi al-Aawar to VDL: The issue of cabinet formation is not a simple task as some may think. It requires a lot of negotiation because it is linked to some regional issues.
