The Opposition - Intent on Destroying the Lebanese Economy!

This is what the Opposition Party is doing in Lebanon - They Lost the Majority Election and the Iranians and Syrians are not happy with the results. For Syria it is a matter of Re-Entering Lebanon to Dominate once again, and to wreck the International UN Tribunal for the Assassinated PM Hariri, for Iran it is a Chance to setup an extremist anchor on the Eastern Mediterranean. Result, Civil Disobedience and Civil Strife, and they have set up illegal Tents in Downtown Beirut - The Result - 70 Downtown Stores Closed, Another 30+ Closing, 750 Employees UnEmployed.

This would be similar to John Kerry - who got more then 45% of the American Vote - demanding a Veto Power in the US Government. Yes, it is very Ridiculous.

Tyre's top Shiite cleric reports receiving threats
Daily Star staff Monday, February 19, 2007

TYRE: The senior Shiite cleric in Tyre and the Jabal Amel region, Sayyed Ali al-Amin, said Saturday that he has been receiving threatening e-mails, in addition to a number of letters that he earlier forwarded to Lebanese judicial authorities. Amin is known to be one of the few Shiite clerics in Lebanon to oppose Hizbullah. He has attacked the ideology and stands of the group on several occasions, calling them was "extremist and oppressive."

He also opposes Iranian policy in Lebanon and denounces what he has called Iran's "blatant intervention" in Lebanese domestic issues.

Amin is a supporter of the March 14 Forces. Recently he delivered a speech at the two-year commemoration of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri's assassination.

In his speech, Amin stressed the importance of the formation of an international court to try those involved in Hariri's murder, adding that "the tribunal will put an end to the string of assassinations that shook Lebanon in the past couple of years."

Another Shiite cleric, Sheikh Youssef Kanj, warned Sunday that any attacks on the "wise and moderate" Amin would not go unanswered.

Kanj added that in Lebanon there exists a struggle between "education and freedom as characterized by the stands undertaken by Sayyed Amin," as opposed to "ignorance and servitude that are espoused by others." - The Daily Star

He also praised the people for gathering at Martyrs’ Square despite efforts to “terrorize” them.
Druze leader Walid Jumblat vowed that “we will not surrender in the face of terrorism, in the face of authoritarian parties be they Syrian or not … There will be no weapon except what is under the control of the Lebanese state.”

Addressing president Emile Lahoud, Geagea said: “You will ultimately go…and the Lebanese people will regain their palace and the presidency.”

AminMufti Tyre Speaks Out!

A respected Shiite cleric from southern Lebanon, Mufti of Tyre Sheikh Ali Amin, criticized the Shiite-backed opposition parties, Hezbollah and Amal, at the commemoration for failing to strike a deal with the government. The two parties withdrew from the Cabinet last year.

"Our fate is through agreement and the mechanism is to return to the logic of the state and institutions," said Amin, without naming the two groups. Referring to the failure to ratify the tribunal, he said "it was strange" to oppose justice. Sam F. Ghattas, Associated Press Writer

Tribute to the Late PM Rafik Hariri

Memorial Rafik Hariri - Feb 14th, 2007

First Cedars Revolution 2005

 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OUR DESTINY IS TO LIVE TOGETHER!

The Lebanon fought a Civil war - when Syria occupied it - for 15 years. And the Lebanese learned a tough lesson - that at the end of the day, no one side gained any ground, no one side won, but the entire nation lost. At the end of the day we were all just shooting ourselves in the foot. We learned this lesson the hard way. At the culmination of the war the Lebanese learned that the Common Ground between all Peoples in the Region is much more than any differences we might have and that Our Destiny is to Live Together. (These thoughts from the Late PM Rafic Hariri). God Bless the Lebanon. Editor Cedars Revolution News.

Feltman to Ensure 'International Partnership' for Lebanon Benefit

U.S. Ambassador Jeffrey Feltman has vowed to dedicate himself to ensuring that the "international partnerships" that the late Prime Minister Rafik Hariri did a great deal to create can continue to benefit Lebanon.

"Because of an outrageous crime, committed two years ago this week, I became the last American Ambassador to witness the astonishing patriotism, energy, and creativity that Prime Minister Hariri devoted to advancing his country's interests," Feltman said in a statement after meeting parliamentary majority leader Saad Hariri on Monday.

"This sad honor, however, bestows on me a special responsibility, one that I eagerly embrace: To dedicate myself to ensuring that the international partnerships that Prime Minister Hariri did so much to create can continue to benefit Lebanon and the Lebanese people," Feltman said.

"The United States is confident that the Lebanese people recognize these strong international partnerships not as the threats some claim but rather as opportunities to enable the Lebanese to achieve their aspirations for independence and democracy in a country at peace internally, regionally, and internationally," he added. The first call to the Cedars Revolution - Feb 19th, 2005 Walid Jumblatt says we are going to go into the streets and challenges that the opposition - saying what will they do - Kill 1 Million of us - 2 Million of us? But then WHAT? What will they do after that. Walid Jumblatt conveyed the level of frustration that the Lebanese have felt by the Tuteledge imposed upon it by Syria and Iran.
